This original Pompano gyotaku captures the quiet energy and fluid movement of a school in motion. Each fish is hand printed using traditional sumi ink on delicate Xuan paper, then individually brought to life in subtle variations of tone. The shifting shades create depth and rhythm across the composition, echoing the way a school moves as one while preserving the distinct character of each fish.
The result is an alluring study of movement, texture, and tonal variation - where each impression flows naturally into the next, creating a composition that feels both unified and alive.
Printed on Xuan paper. 54 × 27. Signed original. Unframed.
