A school of yellowtail moves across layers of sheer, hand-dyed fabric in varying shades of blue. Printed individually in sumi ink, each fish is then finished by hand with subtle touches bringing definition back to their eyes and the characteristic yellow along their bodies.
The translucency of the fabric creates a sense of movement within the composition, allowing the layers of blue to shift with the light and giving the school an almost suspended quality.
